LONGVIEW, Texas — Investigators say three East Texas men in a racist-based gang have been sentenced to prison for the 2011 slaying of another member whose remains were found in Oklahoma.
Federal prosecutors in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on Friday announced the sentences over the death of Kenneth Earl Ayres. He and the other three men were from the Longview, Texas, area.
Authorities say Ayres was shot in July 2011 for stealing guns from another Aryan Brotherhood of Texas member. The victim’s remains were located in a field in Harris, Oklahoma, 90 miles (144 kilometers) north of Longview.
Brian Thomas Green pleaded guilty to a firearms count and received 25 years in prison. Kalvin Kyle McCown and Travis Lee Hill pleaded guilty to kidnapping. McCown was sentenced to 20 years, while Hill received 15 years.
