DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa prison officials are looking for an inmate who walked away from work release.

The Iowa Department of Corrections say 31-year-old David Michael Evans failed to return Friday night to the Fort Des Moines Correctional Facility.

Evans is serving a prison term for assault and drug-related counts.

Officials say he was admitted to the work release facility on Oct. 19.

Anyone with information on Evans’ whereabouts is asked to call police.
