NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police say a man wearing a ski mask broke into a home and raped a woman.

Police spokesman Aaron Looney told Nola.com/The Times-Picayune that the 46-year-old woman returned home Saturday at about 2 p.m. and did not lock the door behind her.

A few hours later, the woman said she was sitting in her living room with her back to the door when a stranger entered the home. She told police that the man forced her to have sexual intercourse with him before running away. The woman said she did not see his face because he had on the mask.

Looney says the man was unarmed and wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and the ski mask.

Further details have not been released.
