NEW YORK — Fire officials say an apartment building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan has been evacuated after a crack was found in a load-bearing wall.

New York City Department of Buildings personnel responded to the scene on East 96th Street near Second Avenue Thursday afternoon.

The entire block from First Avenue to Second Avenue has been closed to traffic.

There are no reports of any injuries.
