Local Quail Forever chapter forming

The public is invited to join representatives of Quail Forever from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov 30 at the Jennings County Public Library at 2375 N. State Road 3 in North Vernon to hear about an opportunity to help wildlife in Jennings and Jackson counties.

Bray Wooten, a Quail Forever regional representative, will lead the informational session.

Josh Griffin, an Indian Creek chapter officer, will speak about that chapter’s accomplishments, and Zach Voyles, a Quail Forever farm bill wildlife biologist, also will share information about the local quail population and what can be done to help bring back the bobwhite.

Attendees also can see how organizing a new local chapter can help make a difference for quail and other wildlife through chapter-led habitat projects, youth events and an annual fundraising banquet.
