Parents group sets arts, crafts market

Seymour Special Education Parents Advisory Council has finalized plans for its 27th annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at the American Legion Annex, 414 W. Second St., Seymour.

Lunch, drinks, snacks and desserts will be served by the American Legion Auxiliary throughout the day.

The annex will be filled with more than 45 tables of crafts of all types. The market will feature handmade jewelry and snaps, quilted items including purses, hand-painted Christmas and country items including horse shoe art, baked goods, homemade noodles, candies and brittle with different nuts and Christmas decorations of all kinds.

Also available for purchase are loomed rugs, painted wooden decorations, handmade canes, children’s books, handmade doll clothes, ceramics, and a book and prints by a local author in the Vallonia area, paintings by a local artist an custom pens.

The art classes and clubs from all of the local schools have made ornaments and other items to benefit Southern Indiana Center for the Arts.

SEPAC’s focus is to share pertinent information on the needs of children and adults with disabilities and to encourage parental involvement in their child’s education.
