SULLIVAN, Ind. — Authorities say emergency workers needed nearly an hour to free a semitrailer driver after the truck crashed into a house along a western Indiana highway.

Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom says a person inside the house wasn’t hurt when the crash happened Sunday night when the semi went off U.S. 41 near the city of Sullivan. The impact of the crash left the semi’s cab mostly lodged inside the front of the one-story ranch-style house.

Cottom says the semi driver and a passenger were taken to a Terre Haute hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators didn’t immediately disclose a cause for the crash.
