BATON ROUGE, La. — Crews tackled a fire at the Raising Cane’s River Center, a performing arts center and exhibition hall in Louisiana’s capital.

Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte told news outlets the department responded to a report of a fire inside an elevator shaft around 8:15 p.m. Sunday. He said the fire was in a corner of the building near the ballroom and was extinguished within an hour.

The department says the elevator shaft sustained significant damage, and smoke entered other parts of the building.

No events were going on at the time, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
