Noble J. Nowland, 77 of Kurtz, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis. Born February 18, 1940 in Jackson County, he was the son of Noble Ernest and Kathryn (Weddell) Nowland.

On October 7, 1958 in Kurtz, he married Geneva Carol Charles. A lifelong Jackson County resident, Noble served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Golden Castings in Columbus after 38 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with kids, grandkids and family.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carol; his son, Rick (Judy) Nowland of Seymour; daughter-in-law, Sandy Nowland; siblings, Samuel (Judy) Nowland of Wisconsin, Linda (Roger) McGill of Freetown and John Wayne Nowland of Clearspring; sister in law, Joann Nowland, grandchildren, Ricky Nowland, Derek Nowland, Shaun Nowland, Jennifer Hillenburg, and Carrie (Richard) Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Mark and Mercedes Seniours, Victor, Rosa, Sophia, Ivan and Amelia Hernandez; great-great-grandson, Keenan Seniours.

Noble was preceded in death by his parents; children, Rita Hillenburg, Richard Nowland and Timothy Nowland; sister, Marilyn Collins; brother, Robert Dale Nowland.

Pastor Floyd Fisher will conduct a memorial service at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Kurtz Church of the Nazarene. Friends can call from 10:00am until service time. Burial will occur at a later date at the Kurtz Cemetery.
