PUEBLO, Colo. — Southern Colorado authorities have arrested a man on suspicion of first-degree murder in the disappearance of a pregnant 21-year-old woman whose body hasn’t been found.

Pueblo Police say 25-year-old Donthe Isiah Lucas was arrested Friday.

The charge stems from the February 2013 disappearance of Kelsie Jean Schelling. Police Capt. Kenny Rider said Friday Lucas was Schelling’s boyfriend and she was driving from her home in Denver to meet him in Pueblo when she was last seen.

Online jail records didn’t indicate whether Lucas had an attorney who could speak on his behalf.

Lucas was in the Pueblo County jail awaiting trial on an unrelated robbery charge when he was arrested on the murder charge. Police declined to say what led them to arrest him.

Rider says the search for Schelling is still active.
