TEHACHAPI, Calif. — Kern County authorities say for several weeks there have been reports of a mountain lion being spotted in residential areas near the city of Tehachapi.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office says the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has been notified and is working on the issue.

The sightings have been in an area known as Golden Hills.

Tehachapi lies between the western Mojave Desert and the San Joaquin Valley.
