CASTLETON, Vt. — A university in Vermont may not be able to build its planned inflatable dome for athletic events, due to budget concerns.

Castleton University Athletic Director Deanna Tyson says faculty members were told at a recent meeting by former president David Wolk that the inflatable dome will not be built. The Rutland Herald reports that Monday was the first day for new Castleton University President Karen Scolforo.

Tyson says it initially appeared the plan for the dome was done, but isn’t certain what Scolforo’s take on the matter may be.

Scolforo was previously president of Central Penn College, so she has experience with athletics, but that college’s athletics program is not an NCAA program, unlike Castleton University, a Division III school.
