The Crothersville Parks Board is sponsoring a Christmas parade and Cookies with Santa event Saturday.

Following the tree lighting at 6 p.m. at Bard Street Park, the parade will begin on Bard Street at 6:30 p.m.

The route will head west toward Armstrong Street or U.S. 31 and head south toward Moore Street. It will end at the Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department, where the Cookies with Santa event will take place.

Santa will greet children and be available for pictures. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served.

Anyone interested in participating in the parade may preregister by sending a message via the Crothersville Community Park Facebook page. Include name, name of group or organization, phone number and brief description of your entry.

Registration also will be available the day of the parade at 5 p.m. at the corner of Moore and East streets. Everyone should be registered and lined up by 5:45 p.m. There is no fee to enter.

The parade will be after dark, so Christmas lights are welcome and encouraged.
