ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Authorities say a woman and a man have been arraigned on murder charges for killing two Rochester men two weeks apart earlier this year.

The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says 28-year-old Imani Williams and 32-year-old Syjesman Brown Jr. were arraigned Thursday on second-degree murder charges.

Prosecutors say the two killed Alexander Powell, whose body was found in a vacant lot on May 14. They’re also charged with killing 34-year-old David Jones Jr.

Authorities say Jones was shot and his body set on fire on May 27 on a footbridge in Genesee Valley Park.

Police haven’t released a motive for the slayings. Brown was on parole at the time of the killings.

Both are being held in the Monroe County Jail.

Messages left with the attorney’s representing Williams and Brown weren’t returned.
