PITTSBURGH — A police officer was treated and released after his police cruiser was struck in Pittsburgh.

The accident happened just after 4 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of South 21st and Sarah streets.

Police say a motorist ran a red light and crashed into the cruiser.

No names have been released.
