Christmas Basket Fund still growing

The annual Christmas Basket Fund grew to $6,333 with $1,100 in donations Tuesday.

The newest donations are:

  • $50 from anonymous
  • In memory of Harold “Dutch” and Dora Wineinger and Charles and Nora Lucas, $100 from Harold and Patty Wineinger
  • $100 from F.O.E. Past Madam Presidents Club
  • $100 from the officers and members of F.O.E. Auxiliary
  • In memory of Thomas C. Bryant, $100 from Patricia A. Bryant
  • In honor of all of our veterans, $500 from Sons of the American Legion
  • In memory of Francis and Andy Elsner, $50 from Gloria Elsner
  • In loving memory of Rick Trimpe, John and Doris Gill and Virgil and Alberta Trimpe, $100 from Linda and family

Now in its 72nd year, the project is sponsored by American Legion Post 89 in Seymour in partnership with Jay C Food Stores, JCB and The Tribune.

To receive one of the gift cards, people must live in Jackson County and must submit a letter stating their need for assistance. Requests should be mailed to American Legion Basket Fund, P.O. Box 566, Seymour, IN 47274. All requests must be received by Friday.

There is a limit of one gift card per person and one per address. Requests that list a post office box address will not be accepted.
