Slinker is the last of the four people to be arrested in connection with the incident and a similar one the previous night, said Detective Sgt. Greg O’Brien with the Seymour Police Department.

Diana Paige Bell, 25, of Seymour was arrested Sept. 15 and faces charges including two counts of burglary with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of intimidation, criminal mischief, auto theft, pointing a firearm and two counts of battery resulting in serious bodily injury. Bell’s trial is set for 8:30 a.m. March 27.

Jerrad Gregory Bryant, 22, of Seymour and Rosanne Jane Philpot, 49, of Brownstown also were arrested in September. Both face charges of burglary with a deadly weapon, two counts of burglary, aggravated battery, criminal mischief and intimidation. No trial dates have been set for Bryant or Philpot.

The arrests come from an incident in which four people broke into an apartment Sept. 15.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the two men and two women were looking for the ex-boyfriend of one of the women.

That incident was reported to Seymour police at 2:49 a.m. that day.

A man and a woman told police they were sleeping on the floor of the living room of the apartment when they heard someone breaking into the residence. Two other people were in the apartment at the time but were in a bedroom and told police they never saw the four people who broke into the apartment.

The man said he walked into the kitchen and was confronted by four people with guns. The man said he recognized two women among the four and the other two were men wearing masks.

The man said he told the woman in the living room to call 911, which she did, O’Brien said.

He told police one of the men and one of the women was pointing a gun at him. They backed him into the living room, and one of the women started battering the woman who was staying at the house. The man said he dove on top of that woman and started getting beat by one of the men wearing a mask.

All four people then left the apartment but took the keys to the man’s truck.

Seymour Sgt. Brandon White later made a traffic stop on the stolen truck and arrested Slinker, who was wanted on a Clark County warrant. The truck was returned to its owner.

O’Brien said a similar incident had occurred at the apartment late Sept. 13 or early Sept. 14. It involved some but not all of the same people. It was not reported to police at the time.

According to court records, as many as five people may have entered the apartment during that incident looking for the man and woman who were battered the next night. They were not home that night, but the people living there were told not to call police or they would be killed, according to court records.

Slinker was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 4:22 p.m. Monday and is being held without bond.
