SPRINGFIELD, La. — A Louisiana sheriff’s office says searchers have found the body of a 19-year-old man missing since Sunday.

Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Steele says investigators don’t suspect foul play in the death of Peter Pedeaux (puh-DOH), of Springfield. His body was found Thursday morning in woods near a creek in Springfield.

Steele says Pedeaux’s family identified his body, and an autopsy will determine his cause of death.

Pedeaux was reported missing Sunday night after going into woods with friends but not coming out with them.

Deputies and volunteers began searching Sunday night.

His family released a statement Thursday through the sheriff’s office, thanking everyone who helped search for Pedeaux.
