Maxine Weddell, 92, went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2018 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN. She was born in Medora, IN on September 21, 1925 to Everitt “Jack” Holmes and Leonora “Lela” (Myers) Homes. Both parents preceded her in death.

Maxine graduated from Medora High School in 1943. She married Kermit Dwight Weddell on February 12, 1943 in Brownstown, IN. He precedes her in death on December 17, 2010.

Maxine was a member of the North Judson United Methodist Church, North Judson United Methodist Women, where she was the Past President of the Northern District, North Judson United Methodist Church Choir, North Judson United Methodist Church Sunday School Teacher, United Methodist Church Camp Counselor, Eastern Star North Judson and Past Worthy Matron, Rainbow for Girls Leader, John Philip Sousa Award for Music Boosters and IU Alumni Foundation.

She enjoyed her family and kids were her life, many people in the community called her mom and grandma.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Anita R. Ludlow of North Judson, Janet L. (husband, Russell) Begley of North Judson and Carol L. (husband, Paul) Grubbs of North Judson; son, David D. Weddell of Hartford City; grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, Doug) Koch, Brandon (wife, Angela) Ludlow, Christopher (wife, Rochella) Ludlow, Jason (wife, Kelly) Altman, Michele (husband, Brian) Good, Jonathon (wife, Billie) Altman, Justin (wife, Nicole) Begley, Sara (husband, Daniel) Preston, Evan Grubbs, Bryan (wife, Lauren) Whittinghill, Kristine Weddell, Amanda (husband, Stephen) Berkemeier and Nicholas (wife, Lauren) Weddell Broussard; 30 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Lloyd, Kenneth and Hollis Holmes and sisters, Geneva Nowling and Margaret Beck.

Funeral service will be at 5 p.m. (CST) Sunday, January 7, 2018 at North Judson United Methodist Church, 210 Central Ave. North Judson, IN. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. (CST) Sunday, January 7, 2018 at North Judson Church. Burial will be at Homes Cemetery in Medora, Indiana at 2 p.m. Monday, January 8,

2018.

Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City is in charge of arrangements.
