BISMARCK, N.D. — A Bismarck family has turned off the lights on their popular Christmas display — possibly for good.

Last month, the Chmielewski family announced this would be the final season for their elaborate display after they learned of neighbor complaints.

But after an outpouring of people urging them to reconsider, the family did not rule out setting up the Chmielewski Christmas Corner next year.

Kathy Chmielewski tells The Bismarck Tribune her family will make a decision next year.

The home is a regular stop for limo drivers taking people on light tours. This season the home added a roller coaster that carries Santa and other Christmas characters around the roof, and attracted 1,600 kids in one night.

The attraction’s final night was Friday. The family began taking down decorations on Saturday.
