Brenda Sue Hunter, 73, of North Vernon, passed away on January 8, 2018 surrounded by family.

She was born on September 10, 1944, in Sullivan, Indiana, to the late Alfred and Frances Anderson. She married Ronald Eugene Hunter, in Long Beach, California on October 18, 1969. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 1925. She was a member of the Red Hat Society – Gusto Gals of Seymour, IN. She retired from Schneck Medical Center in 2008.

She had many varied interests: 4H, square dancing, gardening, and generally being around friends and family and having fun. She had a positive outlook that shone through in everything she did. She has a deep love for the Lord and was a longtime member of Central Christian Church.

She is survived by her children Rebecca (Robin) RuBright and Michael (Amber) Hunter; grandchildren, Megan, Joshua, Rachael and Jaymon; great grandchildren, Karlee and Benton; sisters-in- law, Helen Stamper and Janet (Dutch) Stamper; and nieces and nephew, Lori Clark, Lisa (Marty) Klimek, and Ryan (Jodi) Drake.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ronald Hunter; her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Louis Drake; and brother-in- law Jack Stamper.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Central Christian Church (1131 West Second Street) on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11 am with Rev. William Everhart officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Veteran’s Cemetery in Madison. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service (316 N. Chestnut St.) on Thursday, January 11, 2018 between 5-8 pm, and at the church on Friday after 10 am until time of service.

Memorials may be written to National Kidney Foundation or St. Jude’s Research Hospital, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
