Cougars fall to Hilltoppers

Shawe Memorial topped Trinity Lutheran 69-59 in a rescheduled game Wednesday.

Trinity (4-9) led 18-14 at the end of the first quarter but was outscored 17-9 in the second.

Shawe (4-10) was on top 31-27 at the half before building its lead to 50-38 going into the fourth quarter.

While the Cougars posted 21 points in the final eight minutes of play, they were unable to slow the Hilltoppers’ offense in the waning minutes.

Jacob Rowe hit six 3-pointers for the Cougars and led the team with 25 points. Jack Marksberry added 15 points behind four treys.

Ethan Stuart led the Hilltoppers with 21 points.

Trinity will play at Medora on Friday.
