Wayne N. Taulman, Sr., 90, of Columbus, died at 5:54 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation Center-Columbus. Wayne was born May 3, 1927, in Johnson County, the son of Homer B. and Gladys E. Brown Taulman.

On December 24, 1947, he married Virginia Rotert. Mr. Taulman was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church ~ Borchers. He served in the United States Army during the occupation of Germany and was honorably discharged on January 2, 1947. Wayne enjoyed singing, working and being outdoors. He loved to farm.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Virginia; children, Wayne (Pamela Joan) Taulman, Jr. of Columbus, LouAnn (Jesse) Wyatt of North Vernon, Sandy (John) Wyatt, Marcus (Pamela) Taulman, both of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Hardin of Columbus, Betty Meyers of Florida; brother, Robert Taulman of Seymour; son-in-law, Jim Day of Columbus, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carol Jane Day; grandson, Clinton Wyatt; great grandson Braden Wyatt-Lucas; brothers, Jess, Jack, Jerry; sisters, Marcella Cascain, Louise Walls and infant sister, LaVern Taulman.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church ~ Borchers, 10792 N. C.R. 210 E., Seymour, IN. 47274, with Pastor Stephen Wood officiating. Family and friends may call Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery ~ Borchers.
