Black history program planned at library

The Jackson County Public Library will present the program “Black History in Indiana” at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 in the meeting room at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

Ron Duncan, a member of the Lynn Street Colored School Center of Goodwill committee, plans to talk about local black history, focusing on the efforts of the committee to restore the school building and turn it into a museum.

Dr. Richard B. Pierce of the University of Notre Dame also will speak about black history in the state.

This free program for those 14 and older has been made possible through a grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment of the Humanities.
