Delphine Spurgeon, 70, of Seymour and formerly of Bedford, KY, died at 6:31pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Virgil Bruce and Josephine (Joyce) Adams. On October 26, 1969 in Bedford, Kentucky, she married Forrest Spurgeon.

She graduated from Trimble County High School in 1965 and enjoyed going to class reunions and visiting with classmates. She was a lifetime member of the The Point where she served in Children’s Church and children’s ministries. She and Forrest served the missionary side of the church and had went on several mission trips to such places as Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Delphine took a huge interest in the church kids and encouraged them to attend church camps. She dearly loved her animals, especially Buttons and Ponto. Delphine enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking and watching cooking shows on the Food Network.

Survivors include a son Damon (Irishe) Spurgeon of Dellroy, Ohio, a daughter Danielle (Chris Kaufman) Spurgeon of Seymour, a sister-in-law Carol Spurgeon of Seymour; and future granddaughter, Sarah Kaufman.

Delphine was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at The Point, 311 Myers Street in Seymour, with Pastor Steve Greene officiating. A visitation will be held at the church Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and from 10:00 am until service time. Burial will follow the services at Ackeret’s Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the NextGen Children’s ministry at The Point. Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre has been entrusted with arrangements.
