MILES CITY, Mont. — Officials in eastern Montana have released the name of a 21-year-old woman who was shot to death last week, while the suspected shooter was charged with deliberate homicide.

Custer County Justice of the Peace Donald Neese set bail at $500,000 for 21-year-old Travis Doss, who was charged Monday with killing Shania Raymond at a residence southwest of Miles City.

Officers who responded to the Jan. 25 shooting found Raymond dead and Doss with a gunshot wound to the head. He was treated at the hospital and arrested.

Doss did not enter a plea Monday. Court officials say his case was referred to the public defender’s office.
