KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police have located a sport utility vehicle and driver believed to be involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Kansas City.
The Kansas City Star reports that no arrests have been announced. But police say the investigation is continuing into the Friday night crash that killed 25-year-old Jyra Hill as she was walked on a crosswalk across U.S. 71 at a light. Police say the driver of a Chrevolet Equinox didn’t stop after hitting Hill.
Her aunt, Shelley Riley, says Hill was a nurse and had been getting something to eat for her 8-year-old at the time. Riley says it’s a “sigh of relief” that police may know who was driving the SUV.
