HARTFORD, Conn. — A 15-year-old boy has been charged with driving a stolen vehicle that struck and killed a 61-year-old woman in Hartford earlier this month.
Police say the teen was arrested Tuesday on charges including manslaughter in the Jan. 14 death of 61-year-old Miriam Garcia, struck as she stood in the front yard of a city home.
Investigators say the teen was driving a stolen SUV that struck Garcia. They say he then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Investigators found the driver based on witness accounts and tips.
The teen is being held without bond. No name has been released because of the suspect’s age.
