Dennis Jaynes, 67, of Seymour passed away, Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Indianapolis at St. Vincent Hospital on 86th street.
Family and friends may gather at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday after 9:30 am until time of service.
Funeral service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, February 1, 2018, 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church with The Reverend Ralph Blomenberg, officiating.
Burial will follow at Brownstown Lutheran Cemetery.
Family asks that memorial be written to Immanuel Lutheran Church in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
Dennis was born in Seymour on January 1, 1951 the son of the late Donald Charles Jaynes and Evelyn (Hackman) Jaynes.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Seymour. Dennis was a 1970 graduate of Seymour High School and then attended Vincennes University where he studied Construction Technology. He then went to work for Cummins Engine Company, where he retired after 30 years of service. Many at work nicknamed him “Whitey”, because of his white t-shirts. He loved to farm with his family, fish and took great pride in his gardening skills.
Dennis is survived by long time companion, Sherry Scott, sisters Yvonne (Cleo) Willhite, Kristine (Richard) Schepman, Jackie (John) Wienhorst and Jennifer Jaynes (Brian Wiseman), brothers Steven (Jane) Jaynes and Edward (Janet) Jaynes. Several nieces and nephews also survive Brad (Angie) Willhite, Lisa Willhite, Greg (Angela) Schepman, Drew (Lindsey) Schepman, Thea (Chadd) Wehmiller, Kassi Wienhorst, Colt Wienhorst, and Amos (Michelle) Wienhorst, William Jaynes, several great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
