Members of the Seymour High School choirs attended the Indiana State School Music Association District Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday at Floyd Central High School.

More than 40 students sang in 31 vocal/piano events. Director Kyle Karum said that is the largest number of students to attend the festival.

Twenty vocal events earned gold in their respective rooms. Six soloists and the Seymour High School chamber choir will head to the ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble Festival on Feb. 17 at Perry Meridian High School.

Gold medalists were Bailey Blake, Ella Andres (two), Kelsey Baker (two), Morgan Boas (two), Bryce Hatton (two), Jason Walker (two), Amanda Massengale (two), Abigail Hankins (two), Alexia York, Chloe Hudson (two), Noni McGrew, Jessica Sanchez, Kaleigh Maschino, Derick Sowers (two), Liam Combs (two), Brice Sipes (two), Johnny Isaacs, Leah Desender, Chanel Martinez, Amelia Gay, Lacie Teesdale, Tommy Deckard, Sam Schmidt and Alex Huckelberry.
