A 20-year-old Jackson County man sustained a skull fracture and a broken collarbone Sunday in an all-terrain vehicle crash, police report.

Jordan T. Gardner of Seymour was first treated for his injuries at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour before being transferred to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, according to a news release from Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Officer Scott Davis.

Davis said Gardner was hurt Sunday afternoon when he was driving a 2007 Suzuki ATV east in the 11500 block East of County Road 700N and missed a turn into a driveway on the north side of a residence.

Gardner was thrown over the handlebars onto the road, while the ATV rolled two to three times before coming to rest in a yard along the north side of the road, Davis said.

Conservation Officer Blake Everhart also participated in the investigation of the incident, reported at 12:21 p.m. Sunday.
