Jennings County High School’s department of bands plans to conduct a Pep Band Extravaganza featuring several guest and local performing groups giving performances through the day and also competing Olympic style for prizes and glory.

This event will start at 1 p.m. March 3 in the main gymnasium at the school, 800 W. Walnut St., North Vernon. There will be an opening ceremony at 2 p.m. and a pep band performance at the end of the day at 6 p.m.

In the auxiliary gymnasium, there also will be a vendor fair with goods from regional vendors for sale and on display. If you are interested in participating in the vendor fair, email Chelsey Thompson, director of bands, at [email protected]. The cost is $35 for an 8-foot table and two chairs or $50 for a table, two chairs and a 10-by-10-foot display space.

There also will be a consignment sale in the auxiliary gymnasium. Clothing will be sold for $10 for all you can fit in designated medium-sized bags. Other goods will be assigned a price by the donors.

All proceeds from the sale will go to help the band department and its students.
