CROTHERSVILLE

Crothersville’s bid to move into a first-place tie in the Southern Athletic Conference came up short Friday night when the Tigers lost to Lanesville 64-52.

Tonight, the Tigers (3-1 SAC, 14-6) will host Henryville (4-0 SAC), needing a win to tie for the title.

“I think they made some plays in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter,” Tigers coach Greg Kilgore said of the Eagles. “Their kids made some plays down the stretch that our kids didn’t make and needed to make. It wasn’t turnovers. We only turned the ball over 10 times. We missed a few shots at critical points. We got some kids shooting that we probably didn’t want shooting at that time. That kind of stuff happens.”
