Donald “Joe” Plumer, 86, of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Covered Bridge Health Campus. Born October 5, 1931 in Cortland, IN, he was the son of Henry and Emma (Quade) Plumer.

Friends and family may call at Central Christian Church on Friday, February 23 from 4 pm until time of service.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Central Christian Church on Friday at 6:30pm with Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. A private burial will be at a later date.

On August 10, 1952, at the Central Christian Church in Seymour he married Deloris “Dee” Coryell. Joe was a member of Central Christian Church. Joe was a lifelong farmer in the Cortland area with Plumer Hay Farms. He farmed with his grandfather, father, sons and grandsons. Joe was a member of the Seymour Elk’s Lodge, the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Aerie # 655, and American Legion Post # 89.

He is survived by his children, Belinda Hays, Betty Jane (Tom) Clark and Todd (Nan) Plumer; grandchildren, Matt (Malinda) Plumer, Erin (Benji) Reinhart, Lauren (Luke) Espelund, Drew (Alli) Clark, Taylor (Jalen) Ulrey, Madison Hays, Chase Asbell (Kelli) Plumer and Sam Plumer; great-grandchildren, Laney Reinhart, Max Reinhart, Nora Clark, Calvin Clark, Lucy Espelund, Harper Espelund and Cali Plumer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Deloris Plumer; son, Gary Plumer; great-grandchildren, Emma Espelund and Asher Espelund; sisters, Lois Williams and Geneal Carter; and brothers Harold Plumer, Gene Plumer and Glenn Plumer.

Memorials may be written to Central Christian Church or Gary E. Plumer Scholarship Fund, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
