Cougars start strong in defeating Pirates on road

CHARLESTOWN

Trinity Lutheran had the scoring advantage in the first three quarters of Tuesday night’s game at Charlestown, and the Cougars returned home with a 58-46 victory.

Trinity (7-15) led 20-13 after one quarter and 38-23 at halftime. Then an 18-point third quarter kept Charlestown at bay.

Three Cougars finished in double figures. Jacob Rowe led the way with 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Trent Shoemaker and A.J. Goecker each had 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers apiece.

Tyler Goecker had seven of the team’s 19 rebounds, and A.J. Goecker had six.
