Flood warning issued for East Fork White River

A flood warning for the East Fork White River at Rockford remains in effect until further notice.

The river is expected to crest at 16.9 feet at 1 p.m. Saturday but not fall to 15.7 feet before early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Flood stage is 12 feet.

At 7:45 a.m. today, the river was at 11.22 feet and rising.

When the river goes above 16 feet, extensive flooding occurs across the county. Although this level is fairly frequent, many local and state roads flood, including State Road 235 east of Medora and State Road 258 west of Seymour, according to the weather service.
