Kathy Ellis took her oath of office when the Jackson County Public Library board of trustees met Tuesday at the Seymour Library.

Ellis was appointed by county commissioners to serve through December 2021 after having served an unexpired term formerly held by Dan Thomas.

Julie Lingerfelt, head of adult services, gave a report on the information services department and an update on past and upcoming library programs. She also reported on her current Leadership Jackson County experience.

The board approved personnel changes, surplus furniture and equipment, after-hours adult programs July 20 for the fourth annual MiniCon and out-of-state travel in April for technical services manager Monica Boyer to attend the Evergreen International Conference in St. Charles, Missouri.

The next regular board meeting is at 5 p.m. March 15 at the Medora Library.
