Frederick “Fred” Rotert Jr., 93, of Columbus, died at 1 a.m. February 21, 2018, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Frederick was born September 1, 1924, in Bartholomew County, the son of Frederick Rotert and Nora Vornholt Rotert Sr. He married Dorothy L. Sprague October 20, 1946; she preceded him in death.

He was a farmer and was a driver for Farm Bureau Co-Op delivering fuel oil.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Borchers with the Rev. Stephen Wood officiating. Calling will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery- Borchers with military honors presented by the Jackson County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Borchers Capital Investment Fund or the donor’s choice of charity.

Survivors include his daughters, Prima Heideman of Seymour, Judy (Jerry) Senn of Brownstown, Wanda (Harold) Engelau of Seymour, Lesa (Matt) Reynolds of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Peggy (Troy) Stockelman of Seymour; sons, Ernest Rotert of Seymour and Kenneth Rotert of Columbus; sisters, Virginia Taulman and Doris Jean Conrad, both of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Sarah Rotert of Seymour; and 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; brothers, Arnold and David Rotert; sisters, Ruby Lange, Betty Manuel and Ruth Petrunak; and one grandson, Cory Heideman; and a son-in-law, Fred Heideman.
