Karen Sue (Lizenby) Mains, 74 of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 2:16 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, IN. Born March 31, 1943 in Scottsburg, IN, she was the daughter of Oren Frederick Lizenby and Exie Mae (Lowery) Lizenby who are both deceased. Karen attended Crothersville Christian Church and was the first female to serve on the Crothersville Town Board. She was employed at the former Nolting’s Grocery Store in Crothersville, Manager at the former Crothersville License Branch, Scott County Jail and was an Avon Representative, and volunteered at Crothersville Elementary School as a Grandma. Karen enjoyed crocheting, reading, shopping, going out to eat, but most of all spending time with her family. Survivors include 4 children, Amie (Robert) Cottingham of Crothersville, IN, Chris (Tiffany) Mains of Crothersville, IN, Kimberly Mains of Seymour, IN, Heather (Kevin Beach) Smith of Seymour, IN, 8 grandchildren, Bryce (Chelsea) Cottingham, Natalie Smith, Micah Mains, Abby Mains, Tyson Mains, Emma Mains, Hayden Pilgrim, Cameron Beach, 2 brothers, Jerry (Kathy) Lizenby & John (Lisa) Lizenby, 9 nieces and nephews, Marti Neal, Angie Beed, Mary Hougland, Lucas Lizenby, Robert Lizenby, Sonja Neace, Erick Lizenby, Tyler Lizenby, and Kyle Lizenby. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Rick Lizenby & 1 sister, Brenda Jones and the children’s father, David E. Mains. Funeral serviceswill be conducted at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2018,at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in CROTHERSVILLE, with cremation to follow the services. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Scottsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 and after Noon on Sunday both at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in CROTHERSVILLE. Donations in honor of Karen may be made to the Carl Kovener Memorial Crothersville Volunteer Fire Dept. Endowment or Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer society c/o the funeral home.
