Teen programming planned at library

The Jackson County Public Library will conduct several free special teen programs this spring for youth in Grades 6 through 12.

The programs include:

Teen Tech Week 2018: Libraries are for Creating

5 p.m. March 5: Mechanical engineer Gregg Stephani from Cummins Inc. will discuss his job responsibilities and have small engine parts on hand to show how the company investigates failures and develops improvements for their engines. He also will discuss possible future job opportunities.

Spring break week

2 p.m. March 19: Fandom trivia (limit 30)

2 p.m. March 20: Variety show; preapproval of material is required (limit 10)

2 p.m. March 21: Sphero Sprk+Fun (limit 20)

2 p.m. March 22: Retro gaming

Springtime and Strawberries

5 p.m. April 12: Cook with Purdue Extension Jackson County educator Molly Marshall using fresh strawberries (limit 10)

Open mic night

5 p.m. April 19: In honor of National Poetry Month, the Teen Scene is celebrating with an open mic night; all material must be approved by April 18 (limit 15).
