Gamma Phi chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa conducts meeting

The Gamma Phi chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa met Feb. 6 at Rockford United Methodist Church in Seymour.

The meeting opened with Jennifer Miller giving an informative presentation for the International Student Exchange program. The Miller family has hosted several exchange students. Her current exchange student spoke about her experiences. The ladies of Gamma Phi thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.

President Michal Leah Bevers called the meeting to order, and reports were given by the officers and committee chairpersons. Vice President Andi Bukowski reminded members that the Pledge Tea would be Feb. 17 at her home.

Kristin Bear of the publicity committee spoke about the chapter’s Publicity Week project. Gamma Phi will be sponsoring the Community Diner on Feb. 19. Members will prepare and serve at the diner.

Bear announced that a few volunteers were still needed and asked members to look for the sign-up that was emailed.

Martha Brown of the community outreach committee thanked members who volunteered Jan. 30 at Community Provisions of Jackson County.

Cortney Hillian reported on the Tri Kappa Twice is Nice Kids’ Consignment Sale. The sale is scheduled for March 9 and 10 at Girls Inc. of Jackson County in Seymour. The shift sign-up sheet was passed around at the meeting. Hillian asked members to like and share all posts from the sale’s Facebook page to help in marketing the sale.

Mary Elisabeth Keller announced she is selling tickets to the Fur Ball that will be at 6:30 p.m. March 3 at Pewter Hall in Brownstown.

Special thanks to the social committee of Marla Sciarra, Heather Reedy and Jessica Matern, who prepared snacks for the meeting.

Happy birthday to Marcia Snyder, celebrating her birthday in February.

The next meeting will be the pledge breakfast at 8:30 a.m. March 3 at First United Methodist Church in Seymour.
