BROWNSTOWN

Lena A. Gay, 81 of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Hoosier Christian Village. Born August 16, 1936 in Uniontown, she was the daughter of Griff and Verna (Metz) Hill.

On October 5, 1958 in Uniontown, she married Tom Gay. Lena was a member of the Surprise Christian Church. For most of her life, she was a homemaker, but had worked at the Shirt Factory, G.C. Murphy and as an aide at the Brownstown School system. She enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

Survivors include her son Brad (Sandy) Gay of Seymour; daughter, Pam (Monte) Thompson of Brownstown; brother in law, John (Peggy) Gay of Seymour; sisters in law, Jean (Lloyd) Meyers of Columbus and Nancy Lucas of Seymour. Grandchildren were Cally (Matthew) Morris, Missy Thompson, Jacobb Gay and Carla (Tyler) Sipes. Great-grandchildren were Ava Grace Thompson and Dax Thomas Morris.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; parents; siblings, Robert Hill, Patty Hill, Lois Fields and a brother who passed at birth. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Acme cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Surprise Christian Church, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or Memory Care unit of Hoosier Christian Village.
