WEST GREENWICH, R.I. — Police say a 74-year-old woman who was struck by a car while crossing the street in Rhode Island has died.

West Greenwich police say the unidentified woman was hit on Route 102 around 6:30 p.m. Monday. WJAR-TV reports the woman died from her injuries at a local hospital.

Authorities say the driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating. An investigation is ongoing.
