Ruth Caroline Wolter Frische, 88, of Seymour, passed away at her home on Friday, February 23, 2018. Mrs. Frische was born in Jackson County on July 25, 1929 to the late Edward F. and Maude (Cole) Wolter.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, March 2 from 4-7 pm and at Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Peace Lutheran Church (330 E. Tipton St., Seymour) on Saturday, March 3 at 10 am with Rev. Scott Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

On August 18, 1973, she married Ivan E. Frische; he preceded her in death on October 26, 2003. Ruth was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She retired from teaching art in the Bartholomew County School Corporation in 1991. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Jackson County Retired Teachers Association and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Clothing Center.

She is survived by nephews, Herb Wolter, James Wolter, Ed Christiansen, Willard Frische, Jr., and Joseph M. Wolter; nieces, Brenda Wesolowski, Linda Rowe, Peggy Mahoney, Mary McNeely, Robin Brown Schmidt, Julie Wolter Knott, Lisa Staley Todd, and Linda Frishe-Mouri; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, William “Bill” Wolter, Harold Wolter, Ray Wolter and Glen Wolter; sisters, Marian Staley, Catherine Christiansen and Jeannette Brown; nephews, John Christiansen, Michael G. Brown and Edward M. Wolter; and niece, Nancy Brown Baughman.

Memorials may be written to Peace Lutheran Church or Ivan E. Frische Scholarship Fund, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
