The annual Jackson County Transition Fair will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday in the Seymour High School auxiliary gymnasium.

Students with developmental and learning disabilities and their parents are invited to attend to gain information from vendors regarding postsecondary education opportunities, employment, employment services, community resources and more.

Josh Speidel of Columbus, a two-time Indiana All-Star, will give a presentation about his road to recovery after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car wreck in 2015 and his experience using Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Speidel worked as a classroom instructional assistant at Margaret R. Brown Elementary School in Seymour and now attends college at the University of Vermont.

An information session with Vocational Rehabilitation Services for families will be offered at 11:30 a.m. in the commons area.

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the event, and snacks will be available. Students who bring a family member to the event will be entered to win an additional door prize.

The mission of the Jackson County Transition Council is to empower students and their families to plan and carry out successful transitions from school to adulthood.
