The Adult Book Club will meet to discuss “The Heart Menders” by Andy Andrews at 11 a.m. April 6 at the Brownstown Public Library, 120 E. Spring St.

Saddened and unable to abandon her resentment toward the Nazi war machine that took her husband’s life, the young and attractive Helen Mason is living a bitter, lonely existence. Betrayed and left for dead, German U-boat officer Lt. Josef Landermann washes ashore in a sleepy town along the northern Gulf Coast, looking to Helen for survival.

The club provides an informal, congenial atmosphere for patrons 18 and older to share their literary interpretations of the current book selection.

Everyone should read the month’s selection before the meeting. Feel free to attend even if you haven’t finished the book as long as you don’t mind hearing how the book ends.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the discussion, but listeners are welcome. Registration is required. The program is facilitated by Karen Raymer.
