Florence Mary Catherine Lucas, 92 of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Covered Bridge Health Campus. Born August 23, 1925 in Mount Vernon, NY, she was the daughter of George and Alice (McCabe) Rowe.

On October 11, 1945, in Mount Vernon, NY, she married Raymond L. Lucas, Sr. who passed on August 6, 2007. Their love for each other was an inspiration to so many.

Flo was a long time active member of the First Methodist Church in Seymour where she spent many years teaching Sunday school and serving on many boards and committees. In recent years, she had a card and phone ministry out of her home. She was a very Godly woman who believe what the Bible taught and lived that every day of her life.

She worked at Seymour National Bank until she became pregnant with her first child and then she became a GREAT stay at home mom. She also took in babysitting until her children were grown. After that, she became a tutor at Emerson Elementary School for many years.

Survivors include her children, Raymond (Theresa) Lucas, Jr of Mooresville,

Cheryl (Lynn) Bowser of Seymour; Robert (Kim) Lucas of Brownstown, Richard (fiance Sharon) Lucas of North Vernon; grandchildren, Raymond L. (Shannon) Lucas III, Mandy J. (Winnie) Chitwood, William D. Bowser, Karra N. Lucas, Stacie L. (Josh) Teipen and Richard A. (Amanda) Lucas, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Peyton D. Chitwood, Elijah R. Lucas, Brianna K. Lucas and Cooper L. Teipen; and one sister, Dorothy Buccheri of Pelham, NY. Flo also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Flo was preceded in death by her parents, husband of almost 62 years and one sister, Edith Rutchik.

Rev. Steve Cherry and Rev. Sandy Cooper will conduct funeral services at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour and from 10:00 am until service time Thursday at the church.
