Local theater staging ‘Caught in the Net’

Actors Community Theater of Seymour will present the comedy “Caught in the Net” by Ray Cooney at 7:30 p.m. April 6, 7, 13 and 14 at the theater, 357 Tanger Blvd., Suite 208, Seymour.

The sequel to “Run for Your Wife,” which ACTS performed in 2016, finds the bigamist taxi driver John Smith still keeping his two families in different parts of London, both happy and blissfully unaware of each other.

His teenage children, a girl from one family and a boy from the other, have met on the internet and are eager to meet in person since they have so much in common — name, surname and taxi-driving dad. Keeping them apart plunges John into a hellhole of his own making, and the situation spirals out of control as John and his neighbor, Stanley, juggle outrageously with the truth.

Doors open for each performance at 7 p.m. Concessions will be available before the show and during intermission.

Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the door or online at seymouracts.ticketleap.com/citn or by clicking the “Shop Now” button on the ACTS Facebook page.

The show is produced by special permission from Samuel French Inc. and sponsored by the Indiana Arts Commission, Columbus Area Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts and Art Works and Aaron’s of Seymour.
