Jackson County Young Artists’ Theatre once again will offer a summer theater workshop.

It’s set for June 4 through 8, and registration starts April 9.

The workshop is sponsored by an Indiana Arts Commission Arts in the Park grant, so it’s free for ages 6 to 18.

Participants learn a variety of skills, including stage basics, movement, projection, diction, characterization, prop zoning and improvisation. Activities take place at the theater, 121 W. Walnut St., Brownstown, and one day at Starve Hollow State Recreation Area in Vallonia.

There will be workshop sessions for ages 6 to 9, 9 to 12 and teens.

At the end of the workshop, auditions will be conducted for those wishing to try out for parts in a summer youth production to be presented July 13, 14, 15, 20 and 21.
