Minnie Abner Perry, age 80, of Brownstown, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.

MInnie was a member of Surprise Christian Church and was a homemaker. She loved to sew, tend to her flowers, fish, and spend time with her grandkids. Her children say she was the best mom ever.

Born on May 18, 1937, in Manchester, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Ollie Estep Abner, both of whom preceded her in death. On December 31, 1955, in Jackson County, Indiana, she married Joseph R. Perry and he preceded in death on November 29, 1998.

Survivors include two sons: Bill (Judy) Perry of Seymour and Randy (Peggy) Perry of Scottsburg; two daughters: Sheila (David) Blake of Houston and Shawna (Johnny) Hayes of Seymour; 15 grandchildren: Ryan (Rebecca) Perry, Justin Perry, Erika (Justin) Burton, Nathan (Amanda) Perry, Joseph Gambrel, Timothy (Aida) Gambrel, Nathan (Heidi) Gambrel, Laura (Travis) Jones, Matthew (Stephanie) Perry, Brandon Blake, Sarah (Blake) Stein, Shelby (Joseph) Laque, Bradley Collier, Ben Collier, and Logan Hayes; 26 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Minnie was also preceded in death by one son, Robert W. Perry; four brothers; four sisters; and two great grandchildren: Davidian Gambrel and Dyllan Wayne Davis.

Funeral services for Minnie Abner Perry will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Rev. Nelson Lee officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
